Founder: Princess Guwor-Vonyeegar

The Kumba Foundation was founded by Princess Guwor-Vonyeegar after she visited Liberia in December 2018, returning to the country after an absence of over 18 years. The trip highlighted the dire need for school supplies among children in Monrovia, motivating Princess to make a positive impact on the community.

This eye-opening experience revealed the severe shortage of educational resources in Liberia. In response, Princess established "The Kumba Foundation" in honor of her mother, Kumba, who tragically passed away in 2012 due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The loss of her mother significantly influenced Princess's life. The foundation's name serves as a testament to Kumba's selfless nature.
